Across five days the team competed in sporting clays, super sporting, Make-A-Break, a charity NSCA registered sporting clays and 5 stand event, and Last Shooter Standing/Annie Oakley shoot. Many firsts and so much fun! We met many, many new friends from far places. A special thanks to Tony Monzingo, NSCA Hall of Famer, for the outstanding coaches clinic!

Coaches, parents, and athlete Ethan Powell traveled to Cedar Creek Sporting Clays in Millville, New Jersey for a four hour sporting clays clinic from two of the best shooters in the Northeast Blaize Whitehead and Shawn Kemeter. The presentations were fantastic as the New Jersey State Championship was held there recently and provided many unique presentations. Major breakthroughs included meeting top level shooters who started in SCTP at a young age, minimizing movement for longevity sake, connecting better with straight farther out crossers, and overall stage planning. We even got to meet master stockmaker Joe Goldberg who was doing some custom work for Shawn on site. This will certainly be one of many to come! 

Coach Ariana Tarr received her National Sporting Clays Association coaches certification training with a level 3 coach. Ethan received hands on instruction from Olympic coaches and world record holder David Miller. Assistant Coach Brandon Tarr made some breakthroughs on his sporting clays strategy. All coaches for PA universities with teams were in attendance among several other youth teams. Thank you to 3Rivers Shooting Sports Academy for hosting this event and Midway Foundation for supporting it. 

At the April Outdoor Sportsman's Club meeting there was a unanimous vote to allow the team to list their range as our home range in Bellefonte, PA. This followed a presentation and Q&A session with OSC members the previous month from Joseph Gans, long time coach of the Hazelton Area High School Shooting Club SCTP team, state advisor, and owner of Whitetail Preserve Shooting Range.
